eh, whatever it's Pant. But that's partly the reason why I'm loath to have him at 5 as opposed to 6. He can be as reckless as he wishes at 6 but you need a little more game sense from your number 5.

46mph on the Bashir wicket. Is that the slowest wicket-taking ball in a long while, or is there someone out there still bowling moon balls?

Alternatively - 5 is the ideal position to change a game, if you have some batting insurance from 6-8

In this lineup no one else can really bat 5. NKR should have been down at 8, Jaddu 6 and Washy 7.

I'm amazed they're hiding Jadeja behind NKR. I was going to make a post earlier, assuming Jadeja was in next, about how he's never warranted a 4-down spot abroad, let alone now that he's on the wane. But that they actually sent a 5-match rookie ahead of him is just...

Per Andy Zaltzman:
Bashir's ball that got Pant out was the second-slowest recorded wicket-taking ball by an England bowler in Tests this decade (after Parkinson's one Test wicket - Southee at Lord's in 2022, 43.8mph)
