don't really know how India is supposed to compete without Bumrah....Root and Brook might just do what they should've done at Multan and smash triple hundreds

This is the first time a team has had 5 players hit a hundred and lose the match.

The only instance of 4 players with a hundred in a losing cause is Australia at Melbourne in a timeless test in 1928. In that instance England had to bat for 355 overs to overcome Australia's scores, which is nearly double the 182 overs they batted in this game.

There are 11 matches where a side had 3 hundreds and lost. The first 4 were all in timeless tests, and the last two were England winning in Pakistan.

Wow.

That was a proper, grown up performance. No hubris, no silly bollocks, that was a proper, mature, superb performance.

Big concerns with the ball, we can't hide that. But batting wise, if this is the new, reformed Bazball, im on board 100%. Positive and attacking without the reckless, brain dead ****. Well, bar Stokes!

Superb.
It reminds me of the Bayliss/Morgan era ODI side though in that the bowling doesn't have to be great, just good enough, because of the pressure the batting unit puts onto the opponent's batters.

they used to say batsmen (batters) set up matches, bowlers win you games

don't know if that is the case any more

might be bowlers set up (big) scores, and batters win you the games
