Cope harder bitch he's the best in the world
Did I ever say he wasn’t? Literally 50% of discussion I see about him is how great he is and other 50% is about resting him, not overbowling him, fitness… such forbidden topic.Cope harder bitch he's the best in the world
Whereas this time around in England he has plenty of supp.....If he was that fragile how did he play 14 Tests in 2024? Only reason he got injured was because he was bowled into the ground, due to lack of support.
Thats why he won't play all 5 tests.Whereas this time around in England he has plenty of supp.....
Oh.
I mean yeah, he averages under 30 overs a match. Its not just a criticism I’d level at him, its one I’d level at almost all modern fast bowlers. Not sure if Bumrah is fragile. Always seems to be rushed back from injury and carries a pretty heavy workload.
In the last 5 years, Bumrah has bowled 952.3 overs in Tests, which is 11th in the world and 5th in the world for quick bowlers - above him are Anderson, Southee, Cummins and Starc. Add to the fact that Bumrah has a heavy white-ball load as well. I don't think he's 'fragile'. He's just not superhuman.
I think it’s the other way round, Cummins should have sat more games out. Picking him in all 5 tests of the 2023 Ashes was a big mistake.I mean yeah, he averages under 30 overs a match. Its not just a criticism I’d level at him, its one I’d level at almost all modern fast bowlers.
You bring up LO loads too but then you know… if we’re trying to measure him as an ATG I’m comparing that workload to ATGs from the past who also played a lot of FC cricket and bowled far more overall.
It seems like he’s rested more/misses more games for actual injury than his direct top contemporaries in Rabada and Cummins.
e.g in that 5 year period we have
Cummins 38/44
Rabada 28/34
Bumrah 32/48
in both those senses, fragile definitely seems like an apt description imo.
maybe its one of the reasons they are meaningfully worse than BumrahI think it’s the other way round, Cummins should have sat more games out. Picking him in all 5 tests of the 2023 Ashes was a big mistake.
Doesn't apply to Rabada who plays the least. May apply a bit to Cummins when he plays all 5 tests in Ashes or BGT. Always better to be fresher.maybe its one of the reasons they are meaningfully worse than Bumrah
Cummins plays a lot. Rabada not that much; he's only played 28 tests. Least of the three.
Cummins 38/44
Bumrah 32/48

Over that period he had one major back injury that forced him out for a year. Remove that they all roughly missed equal games and played so too.I mean yeah, he averages under 30 overs a match. Its not just a criticism I’d level at him, its one I’d level at almost all modern fast bowlers.

There is no reason not to play 90 overs a day if the weather allows it.You can not control the weather. Lets say they played more time yesterday and today, but end up not losing any time tomorrow. What then? Do they end tomorrow early anyways? Or do you have a Test where the fear of rain lead to extra overs being played across the 5 days? How do you think the players, spectators, broadcasters, staff paid to work at the event will feel about either outcome?
