Can’t believe Verma has a rookie deal for NSW. Kid must have improved out of sight. Always bowled wheels but sprayed them everywhere

So Tanveer Sangha has managed to somehow get back stress fractures. Not ideal

NSW squad for the first 50 over game next friday has been released: Dwarshuis, JEdwards, MEdwards, Gilkes, Hatcher, Hearne, Henriques, Holt, Hughes, Lyon, Patterson, JSangha, Tremain

For once a NSW squad that doesn't contain 426,387,021 seperate bowling options

Tanveer getting injured is ****ed, was excited to see how he would go in the shield stuff.

Our plans fall to bits, we'd been making T. Sangha bowl some seam-ups to give us some more bowling options

Almost gone too far the other way. Only 5 proper bowlers in a squad of 13.

Will be interesting to see what NSW do. Playing all the bowlers would make for a long tail (Dwarshuis and Tremain not the worst but would be getting major nosebleeds at 7) but conversely getting 10 overs out of Jason Sangha/Jack Edwards/maybe Moises if he actually cbf bowling for once might be a problem

Looks like Patt0 is finished. Disappionting, but not a huge shock considering all the injuries over the years I guess

I did think his decision to go County was a bit odd. Although he might not have been going flat out, he undoubtedly had a higher workload playing for Notts than if he played for Vic and Aus.

Considering he finished his County deal early, has retired from international and state cricket and has no IPL deal I think this is it, though I suppose he could bob up in one of the smaller leagues. An appropriately underwhelming end to a bitterly disappointing career. He was a very good (and frightening) bowler on his day, but his spine simply wasn't up to it.

Makes me wonder might have been if he'd persevered with the side-on action he used briefly in late 2014. I know he said he wasn't comfortable with it, but such a big change takes time and he bowled just as fast. Might have redirected the forces just enough.

look not to burgey but the fact that edwards plays is already enough of a problem so

Edwards (of the Jack variety) has genuinely performed well at times in 50 over cricket, nothing unreasonable at all about selecting him here. First Class cricket is a different story, don't rate him there, but that is beside the point

Mickey a more confusing selection for sure. I did think he was good for a while a few years back, admittedly more because of having some pace than anything else. But honestly it doesn't exactly seem like a vote of confidence in the younger NSW seamers to select him

Will Salzmann a late call up to the NSW team. Must say I liked what I saw of him in the most recent U19 world cup. Still pretty raw of course but can produce some real wicket taking deliveries with the ball, batting didn't really fire but the talk I have heard about him it arguably could be his stronger suit in the future

Think Dwarshuis must have gotten crocked or something as he wasn't in the original squad

As someone who watched him progress through the younger representative ranks, batting was definitely the strong suit. Potentially it stagnated a bit with the jump into mens/bowling a lot more, but the kid is a very special talent

Certainly looking forward to seeing him in action today
