Needing to win at Salzburg to get out of the group isn't a nice spot to be in. They're miles better than the Red Star team Liverpool lost to last year and Austria in December is cold as ****.

He had like two months early in 2017 that were a complete disaster, but then beat City and Chelsea in the FA Cup a couple of months later. He pretty much always bounced back from his lows.

Emery's problem is more that we've never been good under him, just got lucky for a while. Now the luck has run out and the automatisms that remained from the Wenger era have had longer to deteriorate (and some of the players involved in them have been sold) so we're even worse. I think last few weeks the players have basically downed tools because they know it's done. But our seemingly clueless head of football was really high on Emery before the season so it's taking him longer to realise what's happening.

Lmfao at the attendance last night. Hopefully Raul and Joshie now realise nobody wants to watch this **** anymore and make the change asap.

Ornstein delivering the goods yet again. Has been Arsenal’s star performer this past few seasons.

Not great news for the rest of the league. Will be interesting to see if they get a bounce.

I feel a little sorry for Emery tbh. There is no denying his crapness at this point. But he does not seem like a bad bloke and secondly, and more importantly, this ****show should have been brought to a halt ages ago. The powers that be should have nixed it weeks back, if not before.

Sir Alex Ferguson would have been let go by 1989 if the situation were like today.
Shows you how rare it is for a badly underperforming manager to turn it around though, no? Literally the only example I've ever heard is from 30 years ago.

There were significant calls for Micky Mellon's head just over two years ago and now we are two leagues higher

Bit different though.

Yeah it happening once doesn't mean underperforming managers shouldn't be sacked. And SAF had a far greater pedigree in 1989 than Emery does now, too.
