Group A - Australia, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand

Yeah from what I read Finn was comfortably the least impressive seamer on display vs SA A. Guess they've just gone for experience. Either way our bowling is going to be crap, but they must pick Rashid next game.

Going to the game in Cardiff tomorrow. Weather doesn't look very good so hoping there will be at least some play, and not a complete washout!

Silly Australia thinking the weather would give them a chance to finish a game not involving England in this group.

Essential you finish top of the group too, so that when your semi is rained off you're through to the final .

Even if you take out the weather factor, it is bizarre that England have hosted 3 Champions Trophy events & a T20 WC in the past 13 years while Australia & NZ have never hosted either tournament.

A World T20 would be massive in Australia, I'm not so sure about a CT though.

NZ's weather is as bad as England's tbh.

Is there a time of year in England with tolerable weather? If so surely you'd hold the tournament then

Bangladesh beating NZ and then England winning the rest of their games would be so amazing.

England can lose to NZ and Bangladesh can still make it. In fact this is the better scenario for Bangladesh......as long as NZ win by a small margin because then Bangladesh will be required to win by a small margin too..
Their NRR is still quite intact.

In fact, if England win today and then if Australia defeat Eng, both NZ & Bangladesh are out. This is quite probable because after 2 wins England won't be in a do or die situation, whereas Aus will be very hungry for a win..

So it's probably better for Bangladesh if NZ win today so that Aus v Eng game has no bearing on them because both will then be on effectively just 1 win each (2 points) and only the winner will go through and mostly probably the same will apply to the NZ v Bangla game! So Bangladesh will then have their fate in their own hands..

This is the ideal scenario for them as opposed to the one everyone is mentioning, where England wins both their games

That's not exactly how it works. Maybe if England rest a bunch of players but I don't see that happening in such a short tournament.

But relying on England winning their two games is a worse scenario for Bangladesh than the scenario of NZ beating England, which would turn the last two group games into virtual quarter finals..

Bangladesh won't really have to worry about Eng v Aus game.
