**Official** Sri Lanka in England and Ireland 2016

Compo is definitely in for Lords as they've named the 12.

Good to see Sri Lanka turning up. I am a Compo supporter (mainly because of the ashes screening) but yeesh. I don't think he can play the way he does and be successful.

We need to look at our bowling on flat ones.

Just looked up the series averages. Jimmy taking wickets at 7 and a strike rate of 21.

The next best is Broadsword taking wickets at 18.

Always stay classy KP. Went to check his Twitter feed if he had any gracious congratulatory message for Cook. Nothing but some drivel on his golf exploits. Went to see his 'likes' tab and lo and behold.

Was Finn so extraordinarily bad after I went to enter my slumber for the night?
He was purely "ordinary" yesterday, quite disappointed TBH and I am sure he would be out if Stokes were fit for the next match..for me woakes bowled much better and can bat to boot...

Finn rarely looks good but has the knack of picking up wickets irrespective of how he's bowling

Don't get me wrong SL batting is in a terrible state but part of the reason they look even worse is cos they always get the early season tour when wickets have most movement and they don't get enough time time to acclimatize. The first Test dates should have been another practice match imo.

That said, it's still very possible that the batting is garbage in the next Test as well.

I think Finn needs to be given a bit of leeway right now and an extended run.

He's a confidence bowler and dropping him mid series could set him right back. Whilst he's far from his best and I agree Woakes is probably looking better right now, one god spell from Finn where it all clicks and he'll be back. I'm very concious of the fact that Finn is the future of the English bowling attack post Jimmy/Broad so we have to nurture him accordingly.

Dropping Finn would do so much more harm than good. He was wonderful throughout 2015 and you do not punish one bad game (in which his figures weren't even that bad for god's sake) by dropping him, just as you would never dream of doing to a batsman. As you say he's a confidence player: allow him to attempt to regain this confidence in another Test match, rather than dent it by dropping him for what must be the third or fourth time. I honestly think it's completely ludicrous anyone is even suggesting it.

You would think Cook would have bowled him as the 3rd seamer rather than the 4th. That's enough to dent any bowler's confidence.
