Well seeing as Shakib is the best spinner from the SC and we beat them 2-0 then yes.

Honestly, the way people keep banging on about such an irrelevant point you'd think India played all of their home Tests on crumbling dustbowls with an attack of Kumble, Murali and Saqlain rather than the reality - that India's spinners would be flattered by being referred to as average and most Indian pitches tend to be utter roads.

Don't think it's fair to say we did that great against the likes of Shakib and Ajmal, to be honest. Shakib we got the better of but he was the only bowler on his side giving us a game, as per. As for Ajmal, England really did struggle with him at times in the 2010 series and if he and Amir had better any support from their batsmen, it'd have been a close series.

Also worth pointing out that the one time in summer we got a turning pitch, Mishra got belted and Swann took 9 wickets.

England have a better all-round attack than both South Africa and India ? Yes. (if you use overall averages though, the difference isn't much between England's and India's. I am not a fan of averages, just bringing it up because you seem to set store by them).

India and South Africa have a better batting line-up than England ? Yes.

Lively pitches would go a long way in negating England's superior attack ? Yes.

England bowlers would struggle as much as the Indian bowlers on flat pitches ? Quite possibly, yes.
