He's a weird one.

Seems to play aggressively when no need to, yet conservative batting when aggressive is needed!
Basically not good enough for England, in LO anyway.

Snell playing a blinder atm. Somerset have an abundance of wk/batsmen.

Hildreth not good for England full stop.

Somerset will be praying Leicestershire win narrowly in the other group so all they have to do is avoid getting thrashed and they qualify.

Reckon he'd do a better job than Ravi at Test level. I'd play him ahead of some of the youngsters, too, a bit early to throw them in at the deep end.

I'm not following this in anyways but damn 2 back to back last ball finishes going against Auckland. That's just gotta hurt no matter what the format.

Howsie

International Captain
tbf Quiney was only signed late during the HRV cup (he played one game) as a back up plan incase Jimmy Adams was unavailable for whatever reason came the Champions League. But yeah, a rather turgid signing when you think about it, Auckland would have been better off playing Kitchen or de Grandhomme imo.

If Howsie is advocating de Grandhomme over someone, you know he really doesn't rate that someone.

Woeful tournament for Aukland.
Yup, NZ teams yet to post a win in 3 years of CL involvement IIRC. Pretty sure Otago lost all their games in year 1 & definitely sure CD & Auckland lost all of theirs as well.

Surely more frustrating that they really should have won a game this season.

CD snatched defeat from the jaws of victory a couple of times last year as well tbf. It's not purely a case of lack of skills either as much as the mental strength to get over the line in close games.
