*Official* Second Test at the Adelaide Oval

Don't think Australia will be able to bat this one out late in the game though. England's attack is miles better than Australia's was for the last test.
wouldn't say miles better, just this pitch and swann would make us massive favourites if we get a big lead.

Although aus were massive favourites in brisbane. Only day one, but what a day

Add in that the tail starts at 8 and they have a few of the top 6 out of form and there will be a result in this game.Just need to make sure it is ours at the end of it.

Didn't see all of the middle session but from what I did see, Swann bowled really well today

The prospect of bowling out England for a similar total on this pitch when there batting goes so deep is depressing...

Did everything we would want of him, kept it really tight. Hussey played beautifully, kept coming down the track but actually struggled to get him away. Eventually he produced a beauty to get rid of Hussey, the rest followed.

Very well, too good for them.
Meh, he bowled better than last game, but considering Aus were bowled out for such a low score 2/70 isn't that good. Especially seeing as though one of those wickets was a tailender and the decision was dubious/wrong.

The "bowl well wide of off to a 7-2 field with no slips" worked superbly, in that hardly anything was scored.

@Deus: very harsh on Swann. He kept it tight, bowled a probing line on a pitch that really did nothing for him. Two wickets a just reward.

 surely verdict is a result of someone whos a little too accustomed to watching Warne wield his magic.

He was a vital cog in bowling out Australia in adelaide on the first day, which is fantastic. Couldn't have asked for more.

Yeah precisely. It's pretty hard to deny that we are basically in a similar position today as England was eight days ago.

England did very well but it's still premature IMO. The hot tip: Rhino, Siddz and Dougeh will keep England to 300-320.

Note I said he bowled well not got good figures. Why watch the game if the numbers are going to decide everything?

Yeah I agree it's just, but it isn't "Very well, too good for them". Frankly could see Hauritz or Doherty performing just the same...

Excellent days cricket, we were really good in all departments today, fielding was fantastic. \

Got to bat well obviously but could not have hoped for any better out of todays play.

Anderson's bowling is the most encouraging thing about this series so far, looks like this might be career defining tour for him.

Yeah Swann did a good job today, not sure what more you could expect from a spinner (non Murali/Warne) on the first day of a test, bowled very few bad balls, kept the run rate down and took they key wicket.
