Don't think Hughes would return, if North is dropped, unless we make him bat at #6, which would be ridiculous, to say the very least.

England have less talented players but will win in a similar fashion to '09 because they are a better team

Pains me to say it but that's the truth

Strongly disagree with this!! Australia were in strong positons, right through the Ashes 2009, and it was due to their own, mistakes that they eventually lost the series.
This time around the Ashes is taking place in Oz, and England away from aren't the strongest of teams.
Therefore we should win easily against them, if we play decent cricket.
In other words, Australia are (were) a worse team than England. Still makes England the better of the two, doesn't it?

Anyhow mate as others have already called you on it, I won't bang on about it, but to put England's victory down simply to Australian errors is a pretty narrow way to view a 5 match Test series.

I'm not saying that England will win, btw. I reckon the Crims will have the edge - the balance will be tipped by home advantage. But it should be pretty close.

Darren Pattinson to take a match winning 10fer in the 5th Test to make it a drawn series IMO.

Shows how good a form Ponting is in.
LBWs, pullshot, spinners....
---------------------------------------------------------
Ricky Ponting's plan to hit form before the Ashes hit a snag when he was out before lunch on the first day of Tasmania's Shield clash with Queensland at Bellerive.

Ponting was lucky to survive a huge lbw shout from Ryan Harris, before steadying the ship with Ed Cowan, hitting two boundaries with his favourite pull shot.

But the 35-year-old was undone in the 22nd over, when he half-drove at James Hopes and caught at third slip by Chris Lynn for 32.
Harris then bowled skipper George Bailey for three, and had the impressive figures of 2-13 at lunch, bolstering his claim for an Ashes spot in his first game back from a knee injury.

Look on the bright side, you nearly made it. You made it all the way to the fourth line before veering off wildly into an alternate dimension.

Look on the realistic side.. You've been here five minutes and wouldn't have the first idea WTF I'm getting at. You'll be fun if England cop a pasting, won't you?
