Most exciting bowler to watch

Shoaib's lack of cricket overall (missing many tests throughout his career) has to be the reason he can bowl so fast at such an old age and looking so unfit. There can't be any other reason.

There's no way he trains the house down like Lee does.
Nah he is a just a freak IMO.

regarding Wasim he bowled a touch too short in test cricket until or unless it was reversing thats why I was so excited by Aamer because he was already bowling a better new ball length then Wasim ever did.Crazy we are talking about Wasim underachieving when he has 400+ wickets @ 23.

I though Mcgrath was quite exciting in the 2nd half of his career he was not as metronome as he was early on, would bowl those big offcutters and mix it up a lot the spell at Lords 05 is one the most exciting one can ever wish to see.

Those big off-cutters were a treat to watch. The batsmen didnt usually expect big movement from McGrath and he would always surprise them.

And yeah Wasim was a bit too short in test matches. Going by the amount of talent he had he was an under achiever.

To me some of McGrath's most amazing spells came during 1999 World Cup in England.
His spell to the Indian top-order in that crucial, super-six match was beyond words. Amazing pace and accuracy.
Removing opener Tendulkar (for a duck), Dravid (for 2) and Azhar (for 3) within the first 7 overs, he single-handedly broke the back of a strong Indian batting line up, and virtually finished the match. That devastating spell against such a star-studded batting line-up was just mind-blowing to watch, to any fan of fast-bowling.

All time-Akhtar and Waqar-hard to split.
Current-Malinga
In the death overs it is very exciting to watch Malinga firing in those yorkers with that unique action of his.

In T20s Umar Gul is very exciting. In the last T20 world cup I remember him bowling an almost perfect over near the end (almost had all yorkers in it).

Donald, Warne, Wasim and Akhtar.

Watching Warne bowl was the bowling equivalent of watching Sachin bat - The height of refined classical elegance.

Indeed. McGrath between SA 96/97 to Ashes 2002/03 was his best period. Given that unlike the last 2 years of his career (2004-2006), where he was just a legendary metronome. Between SA 96/97 - Ashes 2002/03, he bowled @ his quickest capable of touching 90 mph at times.

Interesting observation that.

Waqar for my quid. Just loved watching him in action. His late inswinging yorker is my favourite delivery of any bowler. In his youtful pomp he's still the best I've seen.

Pace has always floated my boat tho; limited to the shorter formats as they now are, I reckon Tait and Akhtar bombing in are still the most thrilling sights in the sport. Shoaib is overweight (despite the lypo) and almost visibly creaking, but can still crank it up into the 90s. Fastest 35yo ever?
Interesting question.

How old is Lee now?

?
By the way this statement reminds me of Usain Bolt's statement. He too loved watching Waqar bowl and loved his in swinging yorkers. In fact he wanted to become a fast bowler like Waqar before an athletics coach spotted him and then the rest as they say is history.

Loads or great entries above.

I'll give a different take. Excitement in terms of a Roman Colleseum sense was watching guns and their bunnies. You could see these bowlers licking their lips when these batsmen came to the crease.
Hadlee bowling to Dean Jones.
McGrath bowling to Atherton/Lara.
Any of the 1980s Windies quicks bowling to my Aussies.
Harbajhan bowling to Ponting.
Warne bowling to Cullinan.

There are probably more.
