I dont know why people create such threads in CC. Swapnil Asnodkar is an option for most meciless plunderer based on the pennies he threw in IPL ? Please stop being ridiculous.
Sanz, clearly not aware of the irrelevant poll option.

I thought we were talking about ODIs only so I voted based on that. And on that, definitely Gilchrist.

In ODIs (in which the modern era is indeed since 1990), Jayasuriya, easily. At the moment, at least. For me Dhoni has the potential to overtake him in time.

Afridi, Sehwag and McCullum - not a chance. And Cairns in the end was a disappointment. Abdur\l Razzaq worth at least a mention too.

Dhoni, a 'plunderer'? No.

In terms of hitting the ball the furthest, I don't think i've ever seen anyone hit a ball as long and sweetly as Chris Cairns...atleast down the ground, especially off the quicks.

Jayasuriya gets the nod though..that guys freakish, especially his bottom hand. Amazing player. Gayle is up there also.

Umm... yes.

Precious few players would be capable of scoring 183* in a ODI. That alone would be enough to qualify him, and it's far from the only example of extraordinary hitting he's provided.
