The Wheel is Forever
What would be the combined side for this series?

Going solely by runs and wickets:

  1. Gambhir
  2. Katich
  3. Hussey
  4. Tendulkar
  5. Laxman
  6. Sehwag
  7. Dhoni
  8. Harbhajan
  9. Mishra
  10. Ishant
  11. Johnson

My own side might be a bit different, but I think that's fair enough. 8-3 Indians might be much but considering Australia were winless, I can see it.

Well done team India for taking the game from under the nose of australia. Special congrats to Ishant sharma, Gambhir, Ganguly and Kumble for doing well .
A new era is going to start without these veterans and i hope with this renewed vigour india does well against england too.
Remember the last time england drew the test series 1-1. So here's hoping for the future leader M.S.Dhoni very best. Also hope the indian fielding lift itself up and this could be one of the major factors which would decide whether India becomes No.1 in test rankings or not.

Billy Bowden said:
To be a good winner you have be a gracious loser. From my experience with Sourav he was gracious on both occasions and always had a prince's smile. To captain your country you must have natural talent and respect from your colleagues. As an umpire, he had my respect. I told him after the game today 'I can show you a good time in New Zealand'. With a smile he said, 'Really? Are you sure?' I said, 'Yes no third umpire needed'.
 Sounds like Bowden's enacting the intro scene of a gay porno.

Not that I've watched any, of course

Ashes 05 holds that record.

Is it possible that in future Australia-India series may get their own subforum like the Ashes did (and probably will next year)?

great stuff :) just got bak celebrating the win :D i might be a tad inebriated.
Haha, planned on having a beer or two last night to celebrate, turned into about 9 or 10 and me being up at about 3 when I needed to wake up for work at 7.

Turned up to work the most red eyed mofu ever and everyone just smiled and nodded knowingly. Good times, good times.

Watson for Sehwag...
Watson for Johnson IMO. His stats for the series resemble that of a bowling allrounder and he bowled much better than Johnson for mine - took a couple of wickets less but had a much better average. I'd most certainly have Zaheer ahead of Johnson as well.

Not criticising your post as such as I know you did it based on total wickets and runs for the series, but I'd definitely be making that change.

A bit late with this but cricket coverage isn't great in South Korea

India played well to win the series and deserved to do so. I don't think there's a need for too much concern in the Australian camp, sure a few players played below their best but India's always tough and we've won once there in the last 30 years or so if I remember correctly. Considering that was with arguably the best team we've had these guys were always going to struggle. India at home are tough, and aren't far behind away from home. They'll have changes in the squad to deal with too so it'll be interesting to see how things pan out over the next few years. They certainly look strong in the bowling department.

Johnson ahead of Zaheer Imo, Zaheer bowled very well on occasion, but seemed to be prone to getting hit to much on his off days.

My team would have to be

1: Gambhir
2: Katich/Sewag
3: Tendulkar
4: Hussey
5: Laxman
6: Watson
7: Dhoni
8: Harbhajan
9: Johnson
10: Ishant
11: Mishra

If ANYONE picks Johnson for their Series XI, they clearly did not watch the matches. He generally bowled poorly and picked up wickets off bad deliveries. Watson bowled so much better than him it's not funny.

Personally i dunno bout Laxman i would prefer to see Ganguly in there somewhere. And if sehwag aint opening i dont think he can be in the team. Imo put katich first drop. and sehwag at the top with gambhi (those two are a team).

Don't think Katich deserved to be there, even though he got a century. The way he got out yesterday was just absolute chat.

Gambhir
Sehwag
Hussey
Tendulkar
Ganguly
Laxman
Dhoni
Watson
Harbhajan
Mishra
Sharma
