I think its obvious that there's a cultural difference between the way Australia plays the game and India does (or used to at least, I think there's less of a divide between your Uthappa's, Zaheer's and Dhoni's, but a massive one with Dravid, Sachin etc.).
But the way in which Gilly stated that (at least the tone in which its read) was elitist, as it suggested that the Australian way is superior. White line fever and "what happens on the field stays on the field" may be a common trait in Australian culture, but that doesn't make it right (or wrong).

Well, I guess there's an implication along those lines, but he does acknowledge that it's just different approaches to the game. Anyway, hopefully Tendulkar's comments can put this issue to bed now, since it seems fairly clear what was meant by the comment.

Maybe so, but what are the terms of that contract ? It could well be that the BCCI could pull out...
In any case, I also believe Gilchrist has endorsements in India.........I'm sure he knows which side his bread is buttered and he's not going to unduly displease the Indians.
If Gilchrist is being so principled about the whole racism thing, let me say this:
- Why not come out there and then after Sydneygate and denounce whoever he wanted to ? His career was close to ending anyway.....
If he was so aghast at the actions of the BCCI, why then did he proceed to play in the BCCI's private competition - the IPL.
- If you think Tendulkar lied and you feel so strongly bout it, why then ring him up to say "It was taken out of context".
I mean seriously does Gilchrist really give a toss that Symonds may have been racially abused ?

Heh, heard an ad on the radio when driving this morning about the whole cricketing world getting ready for Gilchrist's "explosive" autobiography. Made me
quite a bit.If anything this serialisation has made me steer clear of parting with money to buy the book. Retired Aussie playing having a 200-300 page sook doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.

To be fair, whilst I'm not familiar with "tug hole" as an insult, Harbhajan has already given one plenty of evidence that might lead one to the conclusion that he's a massive **** of the very first water. This is just another addition to his impressive resume.
