Inzy playing quite possibly his best knock of his career here. I hope I don't jinx him by saying that like I did in the Eng vs. Aus ODI last night, but he's been brilliant.

2006-07 Ponting, R.T Aus
Ponting is in the list because of traditional anti-Pakistan of ICC & their so called "panel of experts".Without any doubt,Ponting is one of the top 10 cricketers of last 10 years or so but in 2006,it was just Yousuf,Yousuf & Yousuf!

Better than his Faisalabad 05 knock against England when he batted with the tail and scored a ton?

Arghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!11!!!!!!!1!!

ICC number 1 batsman at the end of the year doesn't mean "who was the best batsman in said calendar year" it is based over more than the last 12 months.

That's **** posting, just ****. FFS!

Yes, this one is in foreign (and tougher batting) conditions with his team 1-0 down in the series against a better bowling attack.
I thought he batted better and worked with the tail even better in Faisalabad, but I do see your point, especially considering he was in his best form back then and has been out of form for a while coming into this match.

As I type, Inzamam cracks one for four. Brilliant.

Inzy tearing it up here. This is great stuff to watch. Hopefully not jinxing anything, but heading for a great ton.

And congrats to Ntini on his 300 test wickets. Great achievement. You could tell that Smith was a bit dissatisfied with the group hug and really wanted some one-on-one time during the celebrations.

Damn You!! Inzi stranded on 92. Inzi still doesn't have a ton against RSA.

how does the rating works? i mean how do they choose the batsman's number? how come we don't see any pakistan batsman there except mindad? inzi had his best years in his career, saeed anwar was top class opener of all time for pakistan, zahir abbas another wonderful batsman. 2006 was yousuf's year but how come pointing is number one? he hasn't make as many runs as yousuf.
i don't see any Sir Lankan batsman there. arvinda de silva and rana tunga both were top performer of the mid 90s. how come they are not on that list?

Noooooooooooooooooooo! He deserved that century!!! This is so disapointing. Oh well. Inzi had one of his finest (if not the finest) knock of his career. Brilliant stuff.
