Kent had a strong enough team out too. That's an impressive result for any u19 intl team
Yeah it's a stunning result tbh.
HERE is the scorecard and when you look at the ages of the players this was no u19s team packed with several 19 year olds who have a vast amount of first class experience.
Patrick= top scored with 45 and is only 16 years old with no first class experience
Brathwaite= 17 years old with no first class experience
Yadram= 17 years old and got 29 runs and three wickets..no first class experience
Stewert= 17 years old, no first class experience..was part of the world cup winning squad
Kallicharan= 17 years old, no first class experience...was part of the world cup winning squad
Athanaze= 18 years old, no first class experience
Paul= 18 year old, was part of the world cup winning team, no first class experience
Bishop= 16 years old, got a 4fer with his spin, no first class experience
Louis= 16 years old, got 1/28 in this match, no first class experience
Alleyne= 17 years old, no first class experience
Mccoy= 20 years old, the only over aged player, was part of the world cup winning squad
So EIGHT out of the eleven who won the game were seventeen or under
. Really is heartening to see young talent like this coming up. Kallicharan has been spoken about for a few years because he broke Brian Lara's schoolboy record and Stewert has been playing for Grenada since he was 15 and is very highly rated. But this Patrick kid looks like he's gonna be someone to keep an eye on, same with Yadram and Bishop. Louis is a leggy who has caught the eye too.
