i would have liked Imran and Wasim to open but i guess there would be a poll for the slot of 1 all rounder

Gotta remove Imran and Kapil from here dude. We need all three of Wasim, Waqar, and Imran, and if Imran is selected here (as he quite easily may), then Waqar can't get in later since he isn't an all-rounder.

apart from the all rounder/4th middle order bat, there will be a separate poll for the 4th bowler. it could be a spinner or a pacer depending on your choice

I think most people will probably want to have Imran or Kapil at seven now that Sanga is the keeper, and your system could break if they're selected as the opening bowlers here. I guess it's unlikely Kapil actually will be selected as such, tbf.

Actually I'd like to have Imran at 8. The 7 above him can all be good batsmen or in the case of sangers wk/bat. Would give the side immense depth with Wasim coming in at 9

Wasim, Asif and Akhtar. I think Imran would be the allrounder. I went for the variety of attack losing bit of quality.

Kapil and Imran may open in West Indies cause Wasim & Waqar would be busy smoking Marijuana on those Caribbean beaches.

Imran, Akram, and Murali are mandatory. This means a two way struggle between Waqar and Kapil Dev for the 4th bowling spot. Since Kapil Dev is too iconic to leave out so he should get the nod.

Also playing Sangakkara as the keeper is a strategic mistake because he is miles ahead of any other subcontinent No.3 batsman, even Dravid. And you can't have your keeper at No.3 as it is too pivital a spot in the batting order.

Keeping all day in 40 degrees heat and then fronting up after an early wicket - I don't think so.

you can argue that Waqar is more iconic than Kapil. Those inswinging yorkers had you waqared.
Imran perfected reverse swing after being taught by Sarfraz, and Akram was just as acrobatic with the ball as Waqar - so you don't need more of the same. The fast-medium of Kapil would be a good contrast, plus he can swing a match with the bat in a session. Every team needs a heavy hitter, and Kapil was one of the best. Even against the 80s West Indian quicks.

i was talking about waqar being more iconic.

Not even Wasim or Imran could match the inswinging yorkers of a peak waqar though. Imran had a lethal indipper, wasim could move the ball around both ways but waqar owned the yorker. As an overall package though Kapil's bowling average is ok, not that great.
