McCullum was never going to last long. tbf, hanging around on this sort of track isn't his thing.

Anderson won't be good enough technically to last long I wouldn't imagine. Not convinced he's a Test quality batsman.

A lot has hinged on the conditions in this game, seems both sides attacks have been noticeably much more threatening when conditions have suited. Personally I think having Stokes in the attack gives England a valuable point of difference and allows them a decent chance of defending the 300 plus score. Chasing down a sizeable target is unchartered territory for this NZ side though it would be really cool if they managed it.
Did have a feeling about this yesterday. Stokes was due.

Yeah - this was always on the cards, the ball has consistently moved the whole test, it's largely been a matter of inconsistency from the bowlers and good batting that have resulted in high scores and a fast run rate. In both innings NZ bowled well to start with then sprayed it around, while England generally did the opposite - bowled too short at the start of the innings, then bowled well at the end. Also, with all of McCullum, Anderson and Watling suffering from some injury or another their footwork is going to be further limited, exacerbating the problem.

Hard to see us lasting the day.
