    Heaven XI vs Earth XI

This was halfway suggested by BoyBrumby in the Ashes subforum. Who would win if you had a match between a Heaven XI (all-time team of players who are sadly departed) against an Earth XI (all-time team of players still alive).

My go at picking the sides:

    Heaven XI

    Hobbs
    Hutton
    Bradman*
    Hammond
    Headley
    Miller
    Ames+
    Marshall
    Trueman
    Laker
    O'Reilly

    Earth XI

    Gavaskar
    Boycott
    Richards
    Tendulkar
    Lara
    Sobers
    Gilchrist+
    Hadlee
    Warne
    Lillee
    McGrath

pretty sure bradman is in hell
Indians can't bowl - Where has the rumour come from as I myself and many indian friends arwe competent fast bowlers ?

With the English bid I said: Let us be brief. If you give back the Falkland Islands, which belong to us, you will get my vote. They then became sad and left

    Brilliant teams, but...

Barry Richards isn't dead now, is he? Why do you want to go for the slowest opening combo ever then?

Plus, nobody better than Laker? Wardle, maybe. Verity?

Wardle was a spectacularly awkward b****** but yeah I'd be open to Verity, although I think Laker is a fair pick.

I did this years ago. I remember Silent Striker originally putting Curtley Ambrose in the dead XI.

    Heaven xi
    Jack Hobbs
    Len Hutton
    Don Bradman

    Wally Hammond
    Frank Worrell *
    Les Ames +
    Keith Miller / Ray Lindwall
    Malcolm Marshall
    Fred Trueman
    Bill O'Reilly

    Earth xi
    Sunil Gavaskar
    Barry Richards
    Viv Richards

    Shane Warne
    Curtly Ambrose / Dennis Lillee
    Glenn Mcgrath

Literally don't have a clue which team would win such a match up, but might give the advantage to the heaven XI. Hard to bet againts Bradman and Marshall in the same 11.

Heaven with the better batting, Earth with the better bowling. Would be very interesting. Probably heaven, just.

Nah you've got the heaven team wrong.

I refer you to Carlisle (1987) who suggested "they say in heaven love comes first."

So I give you, the opener of the Heaven 11, Martin Love:

Ooooooh, heaven is a place on earth.

Lol. The start of the AFL season having an invigorating effect on the bench.

And smalishah's avatar is the most classy one by far Jan certainly echoes the sentiments of CW

Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta
