12 week ban then as it was cannabis, ends just before Christmas.

Bans for recreational drug use are more about setting an example as a professional sportsman (a role model) and as part of a team/squad. You expect certain levels of behaviour. There are commercial reasons as well.

Yeah, but if you didn't announce it, people wouldn't know, and there'd be no problem role-model wise.

Ah well, nice rest for him, be geared up for the new year no doubt.

He's only harming his own body and no one else and doesn't gain any advantage from it.

Meh, Cannabis shouldn't even be illegal anyway.

As for bans for recreational drugs - As long as a drug isn't a performance enhancing one, then I don't really care, it's up to him what he chooses to put in his body. If the guy wants to smoke a joint, whatever, I don't see the problem.

International 'All Star' XI playing the second of two T20 games in Karachi today. Nantie Hayward 42* off 16 balls at number 11, with part-timers bowling at the finish. Clearly these are just exhibition matches, but there's a symbolic value in getting international cricketers - even some who are a bit long in the tooth - to play in Pakistan again, and I hope the matches have had good attendances. From little acorns ...

Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta
