Perhaps the extra responsibility of leading the attack will inspire Woakes and Ball to perform to a much higher standard.

Word on the street is that the Mclaren Vale harvest has been dire this year. This will be disastrous for travelling English fans who tend to have a more advanced palate than their antipodean cousins.

If there isn't an emergency shipment of cabernet sauvignon flown in from Margaret River there might well be rioting in the street. Especially as England are also playing badly.

Pleased to say that I shall be watching this on my phone after realising that my phone contract gives me access to BT Sport.. so uploaded it now ready for the second test..about as relevant of interest to anyone as Cows post on the wine harvest...

Can you plug your phone into your tv? I can't believe Ashes are not Free to Air in UK. It's just not English.

I wonder how this would look with those phone glasses you can get where you wear your phone on your face.

Smith won’t get a better chance than this series to beat Lara’s 400.

How does Adelaide being a day/night Test affect the times for us in the UK?

3:30 am GMT. Watch out for the weird intervals, 'tea' being the longer of the two.

We simply have to win here using the lights to make the ball move or the series is already over as Perth is a certain defeat anyway.

Yes I agree mate, massive Test this one for England. Conditions should in theory give us more of a cutting edge with the ball, looking forward to it already.

What is this new Perth pitch expected to be like? How has it played in the shield?
