*Official* Fifth Test at The Oval

Bairstow dropped? Happy Days.

But for Woakes? Strange one.

Edit. I'm reading its looking like a slow pitch and possibly a Bunsen later. Hence Tremlett not being in. Would be pointless.

Least it's gonna be exciting. Probably terrible quality but still. Tremlett done a favour by not having to play on this wicket.

Well, on the plus side, for England it's a pretty attacking lower middle-order we have. Not much grinding for runs, just don't suspect they'll get that many.

Brad Haddin at 6. Hate it.

This has been a weird Ashes series. Something about it has felt entirely underwhelming.

Strange team selection but the sort of thing you can try in a dead rubber with the series won and not get slaughtered for if it goes belly up. Gives them a look at Woakes and Kerrigan at this level and whether they are good enough bowlers to have an impact or not.

It's 11.01, so Bumble's been on commentary two minutes, and has already described a batsman as 'well organised'. He really needs to find some new adjectives.

Great way to start this test match with Michael Holding and David ****ing Lloyd. Expecting some cracking analysis.

Yeah exactly. Both players should know that a strong performance here books them a ticket on the tour to Oz.

Fox sports like Forkers, same balance issues brought up though
Picking one of the dropped batsman would have just disguised the issues.

A bit of swing for Anderson here.

Tremmers also hasn't been bowling well at all this year, and if the pitch is a slowey there is no need. Two spinners at home though? Am excited to see Kerrigan and am so delighted for Woakesy, a nicer bloke you will not meet.

How can impact be umpire's call ffs?

edit: in fact, how can it pitch in line and straighten to umpire's call?

hang on, that pitched in line, yet the ball managed to somehow dart away from the batsman to impact him umpire's call, and still managed to deviate the other way to hit off stump fully?

Yeah that doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
