God I love this country. Middle of an election campaign and the news leads with silicon tape on the bats of the cheating, filthy Poms.

Think given how Siddle has been bowling in this series, swinging it a lot more than usual, he would have been excellent with the new ball. Starc has been decidedly average with it, so he has often been brought on fairly early anyway, but I think they missed a trick by not picking up on that earlier.
He's not been swinging it massive, which has actually made him quite dangerous. Tends to get it to go far too early with the new ball, doesn't draw the batsman into the stroke.

So apparently there's a massive story breaking which will have ramifications on world cricket...

@BrettLee_58 [in] fact bat makers have developed a cover on the edges of bats that negate the heat marks on the bat! #hotspotgoodnight

He's been great at going wide of the crease and getting the ball to hold outside off. Not much conventional swing in this series but he was hooping them against India in Oz.

He wasn't swinging it much against India. Was mainly nipping them back in off the seam from memory. He was swinging it a lot in the first test of this series though,
