I suppose Martyn thought he had nothing to lose, and he was probably right... But playing that particular shot - it's almost hard to believe. It obviously wasn't necessary though, so it all comes across as weirdly selfish. Might sound tough, but wouldn't it have been better for the team to take it a bit easier and support Hussey?

I think I'm just reeling from the brainlessness of it all.

BTW, Strauss's reaction when he took the catch was a pearler. Just threw it straight back towards Jones and Martyn, with a few choice expletives.

Personally i have no lectures, and only have to get up in order to go to a 'Sinterklaas' event at 8pm.

I'm supposed to have lectures at uni from 11am-3pm, then doing my food shopping, then going out to see a mate play a gig. Tbh I'm just gonna go to bed when this ends and see when I wake up - might not bother with any of my lectures.

Amazing, In Europe atm, and when I woke up yest. morn practically every bulletin had me convinced that this game was meandering away to a draw.

Woke up today morning, to find England collapsing quicker than a Chinese bicycle and Australia with Hussey set, running rampant towards victory. Could be a late twist in the tale.

But England deserved to lose after they picked Anderson over Panesar - fletcher should be shot for that.

Wow, that helped! Three runs turns into seven.

Really like Clarke to show some nerve here. Pretty awkward time to come in.

Feel sorry for Flintoff there, 5 excellent dot balls then concedes seven from the over.
