Zoysa joins Vaas on the sideline

Sri Lanka’s preparation for the IndianOil Cup have gone from bad to worse with news that Nuwan Zoysa joins fellow bowler Chaminda Vaas on the sidelines for the first game.

Zoysa suffered a back injury during a practice match on Thursday night and has been sent back to Colombo for medical treatment.

The selectors have called up uncapped Pradeep Jayaprakashdaran, a 21-year-old seamer, as Zoysa’s replacement. Pradeep, who has played only 12 first-class matches, come into contention after his impressive bowling against India earlier in the week, when he took 3 for 35.
