Warne set for Hong Kong

Recently retired Test superstar, Shane Warne, is set to play in the Hong Kong Sixes later in the year, the South China Morning Post reported today.

Whilst the official line up is yet to be announced, Warne is set to play along side Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi and India’s Virender Sehwag as well as the possibility of his old partner in crime, Glenn McGrath making an appearance in the annual tournament.

Warne has maintained his presence in the headlines since his international career finished at the end of this year’s Ashes victory. Recently he has been linked to the Indian Cricket League, although he has since knocked back offers from the renegade league. He also caused a mini-uproar at home when he suggested he was considering applying for German citizenship in a bid to help county side Hampshire increase the number of overseas players in their team.

The Hong Kong International Cricket Sixes is an annual six a side, nine team series held at the Kowloon Cricket Club, Hong Kong.
