Warne punished for outburst

Although no longer playing international cricket, Shane Warne has still managed to get himself into trouble, this time whilst playing for his county side, Hampshire.

Whilst playing against Kent last week, Warne was given out LBW on 19 but initially stood his ground for some time after the finger had gone up. When he eventually made his way back to the pavilion, he was heard using “offensive language” in close proximity to the crowd.

Warne was handed six penalty points by the ECB that will remain on his record for two years. Nine penalty points equates to a suspension in the county judiciary system, meaning should Warne find himself in front of the panel again, he could be facing some time on the sidelines.
