Vaughan to return for decider

England have received a massive boost ahead of Tuesday’s tri-series decider against New Zealand with the news that batsman Michael Vaughan will be returning from injury.

The news could not come at a better time for the English, as they sit together with New Zealand on nine points on the tri-series table. The team that emerges victorious from the Gabba will meet Australia in a best of three finals series.

Vaughan injured his hamstring against New Zealand just three weeks ago after making a long awaited comeback to international cricket.

“I have come through four or five days of solid running and as long as I get through Monday’s practice I will be available for selection,” he told the BBC.

“I could have played on Friday, but it was a precaution not to.”
