Vaas hurt in county cricket

Sri Lankan fast bowler, Chaminda Vaas, was rushed to hospital after sustaining an injury to the head whilst playing for Middlesex on Sunday.

Fielding during the match against Essex, Vaas hit his head on a boundary board whilst attempting to take a catch in his side’s match against Essex at Chelmsford.

The game was held up for almost half an hour before Vaas was taken to a nearby hospital to undergo neurological tests and scans.

However, he has since been given the all-clear by his doctors, according to Middlesex.

“He may be available for Wednesday’s Championship game at Swansea depending on stiffness and a sore neck,” said the club in a statement.
