Twenty20 Championship in 2007

12 nations will compete in the inaugural Twenty20 World Championship, which today it was announced will be held in South Africa in September 2007.

The matches will be shared between three venues, with those and the exact dates still to be announced.

South Africa has been among the leading nations in embracing the Twenty20 format, with its domestic Pro20 competition proving to be a huge success and a handful of Twenty20 internationals also having been staged.
