Tour match for McGrath

Glenn McGrath, who says he is currently at about 80% fitness in the ICC Champions Trophy, will play for New South Wales in their match against the touring England team in Sydney ahead of the Ashes series opener at the ‘Gabba.

The match is the second of the tour for England and is a three-day match that begins on November 12 at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

McGrath predicts he’ll be around 90% fitness wise for the match and believes it will provide an excellent final tune-up to ensure he is completely fit to play a full and substantial role through-out the Ashes series.

Australia’s attempt to regain the Ashes starts with the first Test beginning five days after the completion of the New South Wales match.
