Symonds in light net return

Andrew Symonds had his first net session today since rupturing his bicep in the Commonwealth Bank Series.

It was a very light session, he faced only tennis balls for a brief ten minutes, but it is still a positive sign as Australia are hopeful he will be fit for some of their later games in the tournament. His recovery will now build up until he is ready to return to the Australian ODI side.

Team physio Alex Kountouris was optimistic yet cautious about Symomds’ situation: “He has been doing all the right things now and it’s looking really good, The harder things are to come and only time will tell.”
