Smith back to lead SA

South African skipper Graeme Smith returns from injury to lead his side in next week’s first Test against New Zealand. The hand injury that kept him out of the nail-biting final Test against Australia has fully healed, meaning Jacques Kallis returns to his usual position of vice-captain.

The series against the Black Caps begins at Centurion on April 15, and the home side have named an unchanged squad, bar the returning skipper.

South Africa Squad:
Graeme Smith (captain), Jacques Kallis (vice-captain), Mark Boucher (wicketkeeper), AB de Villiers, Herschelle Gibbs, Ashwell Prince, Jacques Rudolph, Shaun Pollock, Nicky Boje, Andre Nel, Makhaya Ntini, Boeta Dippenaar, Andrew Hall, Garnett Kruger, Hashim Amla, Dale Steyn.
