Nottinghamshire sign Younis

Nottinghamshire have signed Pakistan vice-captain Younis Khan as a replacement for Stephen Fleming, who has to return to national duties as the skipper of New Zealand for the country’s tour of Zimbabwe.

Younis will join the county on July 25, for a six-week period, whereas Jason Gallian will replace Fleming as the county’s captain.

Younis is the first Pakistan batsman to sign with a county, after Salim Malik for Essex in 1991; although, a string on bowlers and all-rounders have featured in the meanwhile.
