Moores named academy coach

Peter Moores, currently the director of Sussex CCC, has been named Rod Marsh’s successor as the head coach of England’s National Cricket Academy.

Moores, under whom Sussex climbed to unprecedented heights in the last two seasons, will take up the post on October 1.

Moores, whose contract will extends up to three years, said, “I am thrilled to have been given the chance to build on the foundations laid by Marsh. It’s a terrific opportunity for me to work with quality individuals and play an important part in the development of the next generation of England players.”

Marsh, former Australian Test wicket-keeper, will return to his native country, after four years at the helm of affairs.
