Lawson cleared of throwing

Fast bowler Jermaine Lawson has been cleared by the ICC to continue playing international cricket with his current bowling action. The West Indian, 23, was reported to the ICC after the first Test against Sri Lanka earlier this year.

His action was investigated by London-based biomechanics expert, Dr.Paul Hurrion. The ruling dictates that his action is within the 15 degrees allowed.

It was the second time that Lawson’s action has been reported to the ICC. The first came back in 2003, after he snared 7 wickets in an innings against Australia.

Jermaine Lawson has taken 50 wickets in 12 Tests and stands as one of the most promising young prospects in West Indies cricket. He has, however, been omitted from Jamaica’s training squad for the upcoming regional One Day series.
