Inzy retains Pakistan captaincy

Inzamam-ul-Haq, on the back of a successful Pakistan tour of India, has retained the captaincy of the national side for another year to come.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made an official announcement today confirming the extension in Inzamam’s reign at helm, which accordingly is likely to lead up to next year’s Asia Cup, to be played in Pakistan itself.

Inzamam has received several accolades for the way he lead his team during the just concluded tour of India, in which Pakistan drew the Test series, and then came back from 2-0 down in the ODI series to win it 4-2.

Inzamam’s next assignment is a tour of West Indies starting in May, which includes two Tests and three ODIs, following which there will be a home series against England in November and one against India in February next year, before the aforementioned Asia Cup.

Younis Khan, who had a successful Indian tour with the bat, has been retained as Inzamam’s deputy.
