Ganguly remains suspended

Indian Captain Sourav Ganguly remains suspended from international cricket after the independent judge, Justice Albie Sachs, upheld the ICC’s Code of Conduct and the process used to charge and suspend him for slow over rates against Pakistan last April.

In reaching his decision though Justic Albie Sachs formed the view that the penalty imposed was too severe in the circumstances and decided to reduce Ganguly’s suspension from six to four matches.

Having already missed two games, the decision now means that Ganguly will miss the next two ODI matches that India will play in the forthcoming IndianOil Cup before he will be able to take his place in the Indian side again if selected.
