Awesome Afridi Demolishes India

Breathtaking batting by explosive Pakistani batsman, Shahid Afridi blew India away and gave Pakistan a massive advantage at Kanpur.

Shahid Afridi’s blistering and devestating knock of 102 came off just a measly 46 balls. The innings contained 9 massive sixes and 10 superbly timed boundaries. This was Shahid Afridi at his devestating best.

India originally set Pakistan a competitive 250 runs to get as India thanks to Rahul Dravid (86) and Mohammad Kaif (78) led India to 6/249 off their full 50 overs.

Star batsmen, Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar were disappointments scoring 5 and 1 respectively and both fell victim to Rana Naved Ul Hasan.

Rana Naved Ul Hasan took his third victim for the match in Mahendra Dhoni (11) and Pakistan seemed on top with the score at 3/26. Yuvraj Singh continued his torrid fun of form with the bat with just 18 runs as India sunk to 4/59.

However a gutsy partnership between captain Rahul Dravid and Mohammad Kaif helped India reach their final total of 6/249.

But the match was seemingly already over before it began. Shahid Afridi exploded out of the blocks as he raced along to a half century before one could blink.

Afridi used his awesome power and his brilliant timing to smash bowlers Lakshmipathy Balaji and Anil Kumble out of the park. The only success India got was when they captured Salman Butt’s wicket for 21.

But despite Butt’s departure, the Afridi blitz continued. The explosive Pakistani all rounder smashing his way to a century in just over 45 balls. The amazing innings ontained an astonishing 9 sixes.

However after reaching a brilliant 102, Afridi couldn’t continue on as he was out, bowled to Harbhajan Singh. Thanks to Afridi’s monumental batting performance, the rest of the task was relatively simple for Pakistan.

Shoaib Malik (41), Youhana (24), Inzamam (24) and Younis Khan (24) chipped in with valuable little contributions and helped Pakistan win the match and take an unbeatable position in the ODI series.
