Australia keep same side

Australia have named an unchanged side for the second Test against South Africa, which starts on Friday.

After humilation in the amazing final ODI, Australia hit back superbly, winning by seven wickets with debutant Stuart Clark taking 9/89 in the match. The pitch should again offer Clark and his fellow seamers some help, meaning the likely return of Shaun Pollock will be an even bigger boost for South Africa.

South Africa are expected to field an all-seam attack, with Pollock replacing Nicky Boje. Australia’s spinner, Shane Warne was confident about victory when talking to AAP, claiming to have been practising his golf swing in expectation of another three-day match. “I’ve obviously got a psychological advantage being a spinner against those guys, with the record that I’ve got against South Africa,” He said. “If they want to juice the wicket up and negate me, I’ll take my 0 for 40 and we win in three days. That means a series win and a couple of days of golf. I’ll take it every time.”

Australia Matthew Hayden, Justin Langer, Ricky Ponting (c), Damien Martyn, Mike Hussey, Andrew Symonds, Adam Gilchrist (wk), Shane Warne, Brett Lee, Stuart Clark, Michael Kasprowicz.

South Africa (expected) Graeme Smith (c), AB de Villiers, Herschelle Gibbs, Jacques Kallis, Ashwell Prince, Jacques Rudolph, Mark Boucher (wk), Shaun Pollock, Andrew Hall, Andre Nel, Makhaya Ntini.
