perhaps because hes not west indian and doesnt have to like carribean players? seriously theres plenty of reason to hate any player, it just depends on what ticks you off.....

Apart from his bowling.

perhaps not upto the standard of a genuine all rounder, but id say he was a fairly effective bowler who always put in 100% with the ball. usually tied up one end which allowed bowlers at the other end to put pressure and pick up wickets. of course the fact that he got to play at a really late age didnt help either.
one of the best slip fielders of the 90s and had an excellent test match batting record so id say he was world class. SA certainly have missed having him in the side.

IMO Ganga has the best technique of any Test player in the world. However he has some serious psychological problems.

Side note: I don't have to like Caribbean players either.

Main point: hate is a very strong word, especially since most of us only see the public image of a person who could be exactly the opposite if we got to know him. I hear Andre Nel's a good fella.

Naw. He always struck me as an arrogant (but extremely talented) little boy ever since I first saw him in 2000. He may well be different, but that's still in my mind. I laughed when Tino got out to him, until the camera focussed on Freddy and then he just ****ed me off. Seriously, my friends and I joke about that. When I'm fielding at slip and one of the fellas is batting, I'll say "Mind the windows". Never works though, for some reason.

Interesting to see nearly everyone dislikes Grame Smith.. He didn't make the brightest of starts, but Im amazed at the skills of the 23(!) year old, and admire his intensity now.
