As opposed to the bowling attack of Anderson, White, Ervine, Price and Banks?
Price isn't too bad and Anderson & White would get people out, just they'd concede runs at a hefty rate as well.

Favourite XI (of the last couple of years)

CH Gayle
G Kirsten
JH Kallis
BC Lara
R Dravid
DR Martyn - the one Aussie I like
A Flower (wk)
DJJ Bravo
SM Pollock
CL Cairns
TL Best

12th Man: S Chanderpaul
13th Man: T Taibu
14th/15th/16th Men: MJ Hoggard, D Mohammed, Yousuf Youhana

Not hated, but Disliked XI

ME Trescothick (I find him boring)
ML Hayden
RT Ponting
Inzamam (not sure why)
MP Vaughan (can't stand him for some reason)
A Flintoff (I appreciate his skill, but I still always found him annoying)
GC Smith (see Flintoff)
AC Gilchrist (wk) (can't stand him!)
AF Giles (he bores me)
A Nel (see Smith and Flintoff)
GD McGrath (Hayden and Ponting were lonely)

I won't place 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th men, because they may turn out to be Australians and that won't reflect well on me. :)

I have no problem with and Zimbabwean or Bangladeshi cricketer that I would place him in my disliked team. They're all a bunch of tryers (sp?) as far as I'm concerned. It's not their fault if they're substandard and still get picked.

White would be steady, but Hayden, Sehwag and Martyn would tee off on Anderson. If he bowls anything like he did this summer, I don't think he'd get many quality players out.

Anderson has a knack of getting the odd wicket when he's bowling garbage tho, White isn't particularly steady, he has spells where he looks a good Test bowler (but he still goes for runs as he bowls fairly full and will give half-volleys) and times where he looks ordinary.

Oh come on! Peterson's a better batsman than that!
Thr problem is though, all the bowlers in that team can bat. Nkala, Lee, Wharf and Peterson are all bowling allrounders as such. The order would just depend on form.

Adjusted most popular XI of so far:

PLAYER NO. OF VOTES
Slater 7
Flower 7
Dravid 9
Lara 13
Tendulkar 14
Flintoff 12
Gilchrist+ 14
Warne 13
Akram 8
Harmison 9
Muralitharan 10

note: next most popular "openers" after slater are gayle hayden and vaughan on 6 votes each, but i thought zimbos probably deserved representation, because flower has no votes in the least popular sides (as does gayle)

Least Popular XI

PLAYER NO. OF VOTES
Smith, G. 9
Hayden 8
Ponting 14 (named captain twice)
Ranatunga 9
Ganguly 12
Hussain 7
Healy+ 4
Warne 9
Lee, B. 8
Harbhajan Singh 8
McGrath 10

notes: Patel, Boucher and Sangakkara all received 4 votes along with Patel, but Sangakkara was not named as 'keeper in all those games. Healy was named as he has not been in anyones "fave XI". Muralitharan also garnered 8 votes, but has been more popular than the "turbanator" and therefore 'dropped' from the Hated XI. Vaughan, Lehmann and Langer also received 7 votes but Hussain edged them out for this position as he is more likely to bat at 6 than vaughan and langer, and one of lehmann's votes were for him as 12th man, therefore hussain snuck in.

I'm talking of the most recent times I've seen him, which are few and far between. He didn't do too badly in the last Ashes.

IMO Ganga has the best technique of any Test player in the world. However he has some serious psychological problems.
