Damian Wright is a good shout, overlooked him as he's currently injured. Thornley, your right would be unlucky to be overlooked. I get the feeling that Dan Marsh is on the decline now, so I left him out.

Paul Rofe I don't agree with at all, he's not played for ages!

Not a bad team, I was tempted to have Travis Birt as 6 rather than Butterworth. But with Magoffin listed at 9, I believe the batting has enough depth to cover.

I'd limit it to test era. Otherwise Sathasivam and FC de Saram also will come in to the picture.

Man Ryan Broad must have been going pretty good back in 2009, nearly everyone had him.

With 3 formats, injuries, a change of selection panel and some inconsistent form in a few key areas the field is actually quite small at the moment for Australia.

I think our Test XI would be something like..

1. Liam Davis
2. Michael Klinger (c)
3. Alex Doolan
4. Joe Burns
5. Peter Handscomb
6. Peter Nevill
7. Chris Hartley+
8. Ben Cutting
9. Nathan Coulter-Nile
10. Jon Holland
11. Jackson Bird

12. Luke Butterworth

I know Holland is injured currently and I expect Butterworth > Cutting in other peoples XI and I had him at first, but I still rate Cutting. If Holland isn't allowed (but he is, since it's my thread) Boyce is next in line. I've picked 3 keepers, Handscomb a bit of a bolter.

7/11 have at least one cap. Not many stuck though. Still, not terrible.

Can't have played for NZ in any form yeah?

Wow this is tough, so many random fringe players have played at least a couple of limited overs games.

An England test side could look something like:

Jimmy Adams
Michael Carberry
James Taylor

Mark Pettini *
John Bairstow
Robin Martin-Jenkins
Jonathan Batty +

Chris Woakes
James Tredwell

Mark Davies
Steve Finn

That was difficult. Virtually every player in the country appears to have played an ODI at some point! Keepers especially. I was assuming I could use Pothas, but I didn't realise he's played ODIs for SA.
Six international debuts amongst her XI since f_o_s's post in 2009 and of them only Woakes hasn't played in tests subsequently.

& RMJ & Batty have both given it away, which leaves Adams, Pettini & Davies on the outers.

If I was aiming to get most correct in a few years time I would pick a team more similar team to this. Players I didn't include Henry, Faulkner, Head have good upside,

Maddinson, McDermott and Lynn could be options too in one of the formats, not necessarily Tests.

Really hard to come up with the top 6. So many succesful domestic batsmen have been trialed for 1 or 2 games and then dropped over the last few years.

Milne can't be picked because he's played for NZ.

He cheated anyway, Faulkner has played T20s.
