Really rate Keon Harding as a fast bowler. Very smooth action and can really bowl quick on occasion.

I'd fast track him to the A team and get him some time with our coaches.

So just one round of fixtures remaining, with Guyana and Windwards having completed their fixtures. Leewards can still win it but they need an absolute miracle. They need to beat Barbados, score 400 runs in 110 overs, bowl them out super cheaply and fast bowlers need to take most of the wickets to secure enough bonus points. With Barbados fielding a close to full strength team including all the international players, I think this is unlikely. I'd love them to do it though, they have some of our most promising players in their ranks.

With one round to go, here are the individual stats:

Top 5 runs scorers

Devon Smith (745 @ 43.82)
Jonathan Carter (677 @42.31)
Devon Thomas (653 @ 43.53)
Montcin Hodge (647 @ 38.06)
Anthony Bramble (580 @ 52.73)

Top 5 wicket takers

Rakheem Cornwall (51 wickets @ 17.16 )
Veerasammy Permaul (42 wickets @ 21.21)
Nikita Miller ( 41 wickets @ 15.68)
Imran Khan (38 wickets @ 21.68)
Romario Shepherd (37 wickets @ 20.11)

Top 5 all rounders

Rakheem Cornwall (416 runs @ 29.71, 51 wickets @ 17.16)
Imran Khan (430 runs @ 28.67, 38 wickets @ 21.68)
Kavem Hodge (481 runs @ 26, 30 wickets @ 26.43)
Romario Shepherd (315 runs @24.23, 37 wickets @20.11)
Raymon Reifer (213 runs @ 30.43, 26 wickets @15.69)

What's the story with Anthony bramble is there potential there?
He had two decent knocks in the middle of the competition. I believe the 150+ was made at a high strike rate. He wasn't rested. There is another young keeper (Tevin Imlach) in the team. They only gave him one game, and he didn't even kept wickets in that match.

Jahmar Hamilton had a good season. Devon Thomas as well.

What do you make of Romario Shepherd? He's had an excellent season.
I initially though that he was on par with Clinton Pestano as all rounders (I still think Clinton is one level above him in the bowling department).

He is a good new ball bowler. He can swing it both ways. He bowls a heavy ball compared to Pestano or even Reifer. He reminds me of Adam Sanford.

Interesting. Do you think he's worthy of some A team game time?

If he's taking the poles, then he definitely needs to be looked after. Our A team strength needs to be of a higher quality. Romario Shepherd adds that value.

This is where you push them.

I'm not sure if the Sagicor High Performance Center is still in operation.

Keon Harding is bowling with some spunk here.

Leewards on the backfoot. 43/4 in the 20th over.

Harding with figures of 3/12 so far

Jahmar Hamilton on 0 (8). Terrance Ward joins him

43/5 now

Jahmar out for a duck. Miguel Cummins with the wicket The pitch is pacy. Typical Sir Viv Richards stadium wicket.

This is a pacer's paradise.

Captain Rakheem to play a big role here. He Joins Ward.

Leewards bowled out for 90. Harding got 5/20 odd bowling with real fire. I really rate him tbh, has got a lovely action and is very athletic. Capable of bowling brutally quick spells also. If he can get his radar right more often he'll be a windies player in no time.

Congrats to Guyana for officially winning the title now .

So what would an A team squad look like now after this season? My guess is:

Montcin Hodge
Chanderpaul Hemraj
Sunil Ambris
Shamarh Brooks (c)
Brandon King
Jonathan Carter
Anthony Bramble (wk)
Rakheem Cornwall
Raymond Reifer
Romario Shepherd
Keon Harding

Based on a mixture of talent spotting (Harding, King, Hemraj) and performance from everyone else.

Watched some of the last days play in the T & T v Jamaica match. It was actually very high standard with a classy hundred from Brandon King and really good fast bowling from Shannon Gabriel and Anderson Philip (who looks a reasonable pacer by the way).

Brandon King has to get some A team exposure now. He has so much class at the crease, a beautiful batsman to watch. As with most of our young batsmen, he gets plenty of starts and fails to convert enough of them. Still, he is absolutely worth the investment. I'm glad I got to watch him a few times this season, as he managed to have a decent year despite receiving 2 shocking lbw decisions just in the limited time I was watching. One thing that is definitely not improving is the quality of our umpiring.

So the final stats are in. It wasn't the best batting year but there were some decent runs for 2 new candidates in Montcin Hodge and Brandon King. Spin bowlers dominated as usual but there was still a lot of high quality pace bowling on display with 16 averaging under 30. A hell of a lot of no balls were bowled, showing why we take more wickets off no balls in test cricket than any other team! It needs to be sorted at this level before they get to play tests.

Cameron is out, he lost the presidential election. Ricky Skeritt in. Not sure about Skeritt but it's definitely true that change was needed.

What changes, if any, will come from Cameron being booted. Hasnt the relationship between players and board improved?
