Assuming it is at home and they are in peak form, how much would each average in a series against their own side of the time period?

Chappell vs Lillee/Thomson/Walker/Mallett

Viv vs Roberts/Holding/Garner/Croft

Lara vs Ambrose/Walsh/Bishop/Hooper

Ponting vs McGrath/Gillespie/Lee/Warne

Kallis vs Steyn/Philander/Morkel/Maharaj

Kohli vs Bumrah/Shami/Ashwin/Jadeja

Smith vs Starc/Hazelwood/Cummins/Lyon

Chappell because he'd be facing probably the weakest attack.

Kallis would probably get to about 60 or 70 before being dismissed by himself.

Interesting stat: Hadlee never dismissed Martin Crowe in 1st class cricket.

Chappell likely had the bounciest pitches to contend with.

I think Smith would perform the best. It doesn’t really matter who’s bowling to him when he’s at his peak.

Why is Kohli on a list of great batsmen?
Others who could be included instead

Sanga vs Vaas, Lakmal/Malinga, Murali, Herath
Miandad vs Imran, Wasim, Waqar, Qadir
Root vs Anderson, Broad, Woakes, Ali
KDub vs Southee, Boult, Wagner, Jamieson/Vettori

Maharaj debuted after Kallis and Philander was mostly after his time too. I'd include Donald and Pollock.
