It looks like batting second becomes very easy under the lights and with dew spinners tend to struggle. Going to be the story of the world cup.

Just watched the 1992 world cup final. Pakistan winning a world cup in Australia their traditionally worst conditions is incredible. What a cricketer Wasim Akram was.

Just got out of bed to watch this, ffs India get a climate
This world cup is going to be a monsoon.

Indian fans will have no right to ever utter about England climate ever again.

After the Asia cup was a monsoon too cos India refused to play in Pakistan. It's almost like they want rain to ruin every game.

I'm old enough to remember when Indians were demanding cricket to be taken away from England because of the weather in the WTC Final that they lost.

India is a very large country. In fact, almost all of the venues will NOT have rain, looking at the timing of the matches.

In October, there is no Monsoon, except the very south.

So only Chennai could have rain affected matches. But rain tends to only arrive there later in October and just 2 matches are scheduled there later in the month.

The venues for the warmups are the most extremely located hence we are still seeing the retreating rains. World cup will be far better than any world cup England has ever hosted, weather-wise.

Asia cup was in Sri Lanka in September (even further south), bears no resemblance to weather in India in October.

I think the reason the WC is not happening in Feb-Mar is because other nations want that season. And England held the WC before whatever their peak season was supposed to be too. I just think ICC is pretty much spineless and settle for whatever the Pig 3 give them in terms of season.

Apart from the countries that have their season in Feb-Mar, I also think BCCI wanted some gap between the WC and the IPL unlike 2011 and maybe that played a role too? Any which way, the best time to play cricket in India is Jan-Mar as its mostly gorgeous weather across the country. Think almost all states have their spring/bloom season then.

Bangalore's 1st match is on 20th Oct
Kolkata's 1st match is on 28th Oct

Really good scheduling from BCCI!!!

These were the only two venues that may have had retreating rain in early October. But Bengaluru's forecast is already fine. Meanwhile Kolkata's forecast is fine from around 11th October onwards. And they don't have matches until late in October.

Pakistan spin bowling Strength is very weak, they should call imad wasim before sep 29 now its too late
Imad Wasim isn't a better bowler than Nawaz. Both are equally innocuous. There's no Kuldeep on the horizon which is the problem. Maybe Imad should've been picked on batting ability but the cupboard is bare.
