This was a difficult task. I ended up allocating points (weighted for importance) for openers, middle order, bowling attack and 'keeper. Scores were so close ... an indication of the difficulty I perceived. In the end I had to eliminate one of 3 teams with identical scores. There were another 8 teams within 2 points. Not the ideal system, but I had to sort out 2 teams to vote for.

Wow, that's so much dedication and time given. I just went by eye test and voted.

It's so close, isn't it. Comes from such a draft, really; I do expect further iterations of this to have more interesting results. Though V2 might be an equally tough one to evaluate. Four days left to vote.

Considering giving myself a self pity vote here. Gutted at not even a single vote for my team, but hey, it is what it is.

Rule no.1 in drafts. Don't pick Sangakkara (the keeper) at no.3 in tests. A player who barely averages 40 as your no.3 doesn't give a good impression to the side.

picking five Australians while being a noted hater of big boy macho cricketers was perhaps not the best move, either

(edit this was a moan about my own team )

I think shottpitched also broke the second rule in drafts - Don’t pick Matty Hayden.

Edit: Also the third rule (don’t pick David Warner).

I don't think anyone would bat an eye at Clyde Walcott up the middle order, with the gloves. But Sangakkara and Walcott have almost the EXACT same batting average splits between their batting and keeping between the two of them, with highly similar keeping frequency. You should look up their gloves on/off stats filter on cricinfo, it's honestly a bit freaky how much of a carbon copy it is.

But I do cede that giving him gloves + captaincy + batting at 3 is definitely on the unrealistic side. Should have gone with a Jayawardene pick for a captain instead of taking MoYo, and at least taken that responsibility from Sanga, but meh it is what it is.
