Good to hear, I've been waiting for Spark to get off their butts and start uploading some classic content.

Watched the 1993 test highlights, still find it amazing that NZ was able to burgle a test off an Australian side featuring Taylor, Boon, Border, Waugh, Warne, Hughes and McDermott.

Watching a full match replay of the NZ vs Pak encounter at the 2011 WC on Star sports 2. Had totally forgot about what a weird looking batting line-up and whacky positions we had for certain people. Jamie How at 3, Franklin at 5 and Oram at 9....

That was a truly bizarre game, though it did put to rest predictions like "NZ will not beat a test playing nation in the World Cup" and "NZ may have to fight it out with Zimbabwe for a quarterfinal spot". 92 off the last 4 overs with Shoaib and Razzaq apparently forgetting how to land the ball on the pitch.

Think How was brought in because Ryder got injured at the last minute, while Franklin was living off a couple of good knocks vs India a few months earlier. Took a few displays of real ineptitude from each of them for the selectors to finally settle on KW as a middle order fixture.

Oram's eyesight had gone in the last couple of seasons of his career. He was really more of a bowler by the time of the 2011 World Cup.

just learned taranaki loosie kaylum boshier (brother of lachlan) played in the same under 19 cricket side as rachin and co.

what would be the cricket rugby side? must have chosen rugby over cricket (so no southee or mccullum) but been good at cricket

jordie finally gets his #12 jersey
Added in your centre. Collins had a genuine choice to make - was a hard-hitting batsman at Otago Boys.

Ah yes, those last 4 overs where we went from 210-6 to 302-7. And come to speak of it....that part of the game is now on. Here come the fireworks!

Realistically he was always more of a bowler in ODIs.

"Bowl ten overs for really cheap and hit a couple of dingers at the death" was his job description. As time went on towards the end he wasn't hitting many dingers but still in the frame due to how good a job he was doing at bowling ten overs for cheap.

I just remember him mainly for rearguard rescue (or sometimes nearly) acts. Same with Styris. Remember us losing a lot of order wickets on numerous occasions and styris/oram/sometimes bmac/vettori coming to the rescue to post a 200'ish score. So glad that Gup/kane/Ross took over from that top order back in the day. Much needed upgrade.

Styris actually graduated from that bracket quite quickly and became a pretty reliable no.4/no.5. In a way his World Cup efforts were the template for Grant Elliott's role in 2015.

Here's a question for you guys. Now that we have 4 tournaments coming in 3 years (wtc, t20, t20 and odi wc)....any chance we can add a trophy to our locker? Almost desperate at this point to see this particular group win something already...

Is the WTC still on its original timeline? If so, what are the plans for our scheduled series v the Bangerz? Are the points just being split 50:50? If that's the case that would probably end any slim chances that NZ may have of making the final.

T20 World Cup - based on results over the last 2-3 NZ aren't really in the frame, with a tendency to bottle games which should be closed out (maybe a lack of IPL game time which other countries seem to benefit more from make a difference here, I don't know). Though in 2016 NZ actually missed a great chance at winning, they'd worked out a good template for the conditions.

ODI World Cup - I don't like NZ's chances in the subcontinent but you don't discount a nation which has performed as well as NZ have in the last 4 editions even with struggling sides (as was the case in 2011). Though you really wish the management would have a plan in mind for 2023 unlike last year's WC where a number of players were out of form and hardly anyone outside a core group had been meaningfully trialled in the lead up.

I'd love to see Jacob Duffy get trialled in ODI's. Could easily take Henry's spot. Would like to see Kuggelejn get a persisted run in the team too. CDG ain't gonna be around in 2023.

Yeah would love to see some fresh faces appearing more regularly in the ODI side - Phillips, Seifert, Young, Jaimeson to name a few. Need the selection panel to show some imagination.

CdG deserves a ton of credit for forging the career he has after turning 30, should be an inspiration to NZ's second tier to keep plugging away in the domestic scene even as opportunities are limited. Wouldn't rule him out making 2023 if he stays fit, don't see Kuggs as a challenger for his spot at all.
