The most hopeless batting line ups to visit England since 2010

It narrowly predates 2010, but this motley crew deserve a mention. Surely there haven't been many worse top threes.
Having Oram and Vettori down the order makes it okay.

That one Pakistan side not only had a rubbish batting lineup but also followed it by sending Mohammed Amir in at 8.

Thinking about it, the Indian batting line up in 2011 was the biggest let down as I don't think many people predicted they would implode like that. Yep it was ageing but still the way they were taken apart was crazy.India 2018, only Kohli was the only batsman that everyone agreed should be playing, while there was doubts about every other batsman so what has happened is not a massive shock.

Well not really.
From the second innings of the third test, they were dreadful. The scores from that point onwards read as follows: 178, 152, 161, 148, 94. Granted they were okay in the first half of the series, but the fact that they couldn't pass 200 in the second half of the series- a point when England scored all over 300 to the exception of 205/4d- means that they were awful.

Yeah if we didn't bowl as well as we have and England batted like 2011, I'm sure our batting would've looked a lot worse than it does.
Bowling has been superb. A very pleasant surprise, been fun to watch so much skill and variation in an Indian pace attack. Hope they can stay fit.

In real terms? Pakistan 2010, easily.
Against expectation? 2011 India probably, although the 2014 side came with quite a lot of unwarranted hype and were poor.

2014 atleast can kind be excused since literally the entire batting lineup was extremely young and were touring England for the first time.

I'm pretty sure it would have been their first experience of such a long tour as well.

The mental side of playing in such a long series - particularly when you're not doing well - is often overlooked IMO.

Yeah definitely. Because they did actually do pretty well in the first half of the series. They just looked mentally shot after Southampton.

It's a huge shame all of them bar kohli have been worse/just as bad this time around when they should have improved in these 4 years.
